About Us
We are a hybrid in person/online boutique Womb Wellness Dance Studio and Juice Apothecary
Our story
I was diagnosed with Uterine Fibroids in 2008. After years of living in survival mode, yo-yo detoxing and having no strategic self-care plan, I got focused and committed to what I call the "F*ck These Fibroids" and Strategic Self-Care lifestyle in 2017. In 30 days, I healed myself of anemia and incontinence.Soon after I started passing pieces of fibroids, on my own.
The name Hattie Evelyn is homage to my matrilineal great-great grandmother, Hattie Louise Pegues, a midwife after slavery and her granddaughter, my maternal grandmother, Evelyn Marion Carter, a CNA born on July 4. Mama Evelyn passed away from uterine cancer in 1997. Though I am a singer/songwriter, this womb wellness work is ancestral for me.
In 2020, when the Covid pandemic shut the world down, I had to pivot from my work as a live music performer, event producer& host. I needed to continue to workout. I despise the gym but love dancing as a workout. I had started dancing as my workout in 2017. I decided to take advantage of the isolation and get certified in the following: Strategic Self Care, 2 types of dance fitness-Liquid Motion and Lapryderz, Yoni Steam Therapy and Juice chef . All of these practices helped me eradicate fibroid symptoms. Since 2020, I have taught over 150 women online. in person, at classes, workshops and retreats.
Our mission
Our mission is to disrupt the taboo, shame and self sabotaging behaviors around menstruation, fibroids and menopause.
Our programs are designed to work intergenerationally. We always play woman affirming music in our dance classes and workshops. We vow to always create a sonically safe space, free of misogynoir lyrics and music.
